Walks in Durham

Durham is a mid-sized county in the northeast of England. Unlike the counties immediately to the north and south, Tyne and Wear and Cleveland, it is a particularly attractive county. The county town, Durham, is notable, with its cathedral standing high above the town.

The Pennine Way tickles the western edge of the county, and includes some high and rough walking. The small stretch of coastline within the county is also attractive, and a relief after the more urbanised walking to the north and south. Perhaps the most famous feature is High Force on the River Tees.

Below is a map showing all the walks that I have completed in Durham.
