Walk #15: Waterbeach circular via river and Long Drove

Description	This was a short walk from my home in Waterbeach along the River Cam to the Black Drove, along Black Drove and then back for three miles along Long Drove back home.
Pack	I carried a full pack, and used the Platypus Hydration System for the first time.
Condition	I feel fine after this walk.
Weather	The weather today was hot and sunny.

Notes

This short and simple walk was done as a test of my pack with full walking kit in. I am hoping to soon do a walk in the Peak District with full kit, and this was a shakedown of the kit. I have found a few problems that will have to be fixed, but nothing major. The walk itself is beautiful, and a great counterpoint to those who say that there are no good walks in Cambridgeshire. It may be flat, but flat does not necessarily mean boring and uninteresting.

Directions

Walk to the River Cam at Bottisham Lock. Follow the river for three miles northwards. After a couple of miles the path drops down off the banking and onto the floodplain. When the path rejoins the banking take a left at the stile and join the Black Drove track.

Follow the Black Drove track westwards until you meet the top end of Long Drove.

Turn left and follow Long Drove southwards until you meet the road near Bottisham Lock.
